Happy Thanksgiving! – A Word from DS Rev. Dr. Marcus Freeman

Greetings Leaders, Congregations, and Friends of the Capital District!

On behalf of the Capital District leaders and staff, I would like to extend to all of you our sincere hope that you will have a meaningful and blessed Thanksgiving holiday.

We are grateful for each of you for your faithful witness and commitment to participating in the work that Christ is doing through the ministry of the church, particularly in this unique season of challenges and opportunities in our lives together.

We pray that your greatest expectations for your Thanksgiving holiday will be wonderfully fulfilled, whether it will be a traditional observances, time with loved ones, time to rest, play, serve, or more.

For those who have experienced burdens and pains that have obscured or hindered your thankful hearts, we pray that Christ’s loving appeal to us offered in Matthew 11:28-30 will break through the hurt and disappointment as he invites, “Come to me, all you who are weary and carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” May Christ’s love begin to lift the burdens, minister to the pain, and restore your hearts for the gift of gratitude.

All the best and Happy Thanksgiving!
Marcus
