Thank You, Bishop Schnase!
We express our sincere gratitude to Bishop Robert Schnase for his thoughtful, caring, and transformational leadership during one of the most challenging seasons in the history our church. Bishop Schnase embodied trust, a steady hand, exceptional visionary and executive oversight, and tremendous sensitivity in all of our experiences spanning from hurricane and disaster recovery, a global pandemic, a long disaffiliation season, and so much more. We are better because of his gracious and spiritual presence among us, and we are ready for the new future that God is leading us into because of his faithful service. Let us be in prayer that this next season of ministry and life for Bishop Schnase, Esther, and the family will be fruitful and fulfilling in meaningful ways. A retirement celebration has been planned for Bishop Schnase at Northern Hills United Methodist Church on Thursday, August 8, 3-5 pm, and the Conference is invited. Welcome Bishop Harvey!
We are blessed to welcome Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey as the new Episcopal Leader of the Rio Texas Conference. Bishop Harvey brings a wealth of fruitful and effective denominational leadership as she currently will continue to serve as Bishop for the Texas Conference, and as she previously served as Bishop of the Louisiana Conference, Deputy General Secretary of UMCOR, and in several more significant leadership capacities.
