District Superintendent
Tracey Beadle
Rev. Beadle was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, where her early exposure to Christianity was rooted in a literal reading of scripture that left her with more questions than answers. Yet, a deep longing for God persisted throughout her life. After years of searching, Tracey found her spiritual home in the United Methodist Church. Its grace-filled theology, commitment to justice, and embrace of questions (and questioners) captured her heart.
With the support of her family, she followed a call to ministry, graduating from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity in 2011. She has served in full-time local church ministry ever since.
As District Superintendent of the North District, Rev. Beadle is excited to walk alongside clergy and laity, asking good questions, learning together, and discerning God’s dreams for the beloved communities of the district and conference. She hopes to bring curiosity, compassion, a collaborative spirit, and good humor to the shared work of the district.
She holds a B.A. in Theater from UNC-Chapel Hill, once worked in business and finance, and now enjoys travel, gardening, trail running, and playing Spades with her husband, James and two adult daughters, Michaela and Zaye. She experiences God in nature, especially meditating on the sky’s many transitions and moods and dreams of one day seeing the Northern Lights.
